  Meeting Minutes for February 10, 2015   

The February 2015 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday the 10th at Fitzgerald’s in Middleton.

The meeting was called to order by President Ted – K9IMM at 7:15 PM.

Eleven members, plus four more via Skype, and guest Bonnie – W9BJB attended.

Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the January 2015 meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Financial Statement of Account for the general fund as of January 17, 2015 was read and approved.

Committee Reports:
– DX Report… Ted – K9IMM reported TI9/3Z9DX – Cocos is expected on Feb 16, several ops are QRV now from KG4,
– DX Report…Dick – K9APW reported 7QAA – Malawi will be QRV from March 11 to April 1, Dick will be joining them for the second week!
– DX Report…Looking to future DXpeditions, VK0EK – Heard Is. in November/December, maybe a side trip to Kerguelen Is. too.
– DX Report…VP8 – South Sandwich and VP8 – South Georgia are coming in January 2016.
– DX Report…The two proposed 3Y – Bouvet DXpeditions for 2016 are still looking for funding.
– DX Report…Jim – KE9ET announced that K1N – Navassa is now over 100K Q’s.
– Repeater… Ed – N9MW: Repeater operating well.
– Packet Cluster… Ed – N9MW: W9BG is operating well.
– Website… Ed – N9MW: Website is operating well.
– Email… Ted – K9IMM: MDXC and SWAP e-mail reflectors are operating well.
– Scholarship… Ed – N9MW: The Scholarship committee will be hosting a scholarship table at the MARA Hamfest in Stoughton on April 11.
– Scholarship… Ed – N9MW: Donations of equipment are being solicited.

General and Member Information:
Sharon & Ed and Sharon & Bill are enjoying 70 degree weather in Arizona.
Ted – K9IMM continues to optimize his CW skimmer. Also has obtained a frequency standard accurate to 1/1000 Hz.

Old Business: None

New Business:
Lloyd – Presented a request for funding for a DXpedition to TX3X – Chesterfield Is scheduled for October of this year. The request was tabled until next month.
Ted – K9IMM put out a request for volunteers to set up the annual spring MDXC banquet.

The business meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM.

Following the business meeting, Ted – K9IMM presented a program and demonstration of his DX Skimmer that is actively feeding the global DX spotting system.
