The April MDXC Business Meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM CDST by President Kevin - N9JKP

Members Present: 11

Guests Present: 35

Secretary’s Report: Minutes from previous meeting posted to madisondxclub.org and accepted as recorded.

Treasurer’s Report: Jim - KE9ET reported $1357.06

Committee Reports:
DX: March conditions were excellent, April has been down a bit.
DX: N9LB's DX Report, including MDXC member results, was cut do to lack of time.

Repeater: No Report
Skimmer: Working
DX Cluster: Working (W9BG)
Website: Working (Madisondxclub.org).
Email reflector: Working
Swap reflector: Working
Scholarship: No Report

General and Member Information:
Spring is tower and antenna season, accidents can be deadly!
Always use Fall Protection Safely Equipment ( belt or harness, use lanyards with Pelican Hooks, 100% tie-off )
Do not free-climb trees, branches can be brittle and may instantly break without warning!

Old Business:
Ed - N9MW lead a discussion about possibly converting the MDXC voice repeater to Digital Mode with Internet tie-in.
Ed is looking for input from club members.

New Business:
Bob - W9EWZ presented four DXpedition Sponsorship requests to the membership:

3Y0K - Bouvet Island
The planned DXpedition is seriously short of funding and is requesting additional support.
Bouvet is #11 on the Club-Log Most Wanted DXCC entity list.
Bob - W9EWZ offered to personally match $100 if MDXC will contribute another $100.
This would increase MDXC's Bouvet contribution by $200 resulting in $1000 overall support.
Lloyd - N9LB made a motion to accept Bob's offer and was seconded by ED - N9MW.
Discussion followed and a vote was taken and unanimously approved.

FT4GL - Glorioso Island
Glorioso is a Rare DX entity, Club-Log #7 Most Wanted DXCC.
Lloyd - N9LB made a motion to donate $200 and was seconded by Dave - W9DEY.
Discussion followed and a vote was taken and unanimously approved.

N5J - Jarvis Island
Palmyra & Jarvis is #18 on the Club-Log Most Wanted DXCC entity list.
This operation will utilize the Rig-In-A-Box technology to activate an environmentally sensitive entity.
Lloyd - N9LB made a motion to contribute $100 and was seconded by Ed - N9MW.
Discussion followed and a vote was taken and approved with some opposition.
Further discussion resulted.
A motion to increase the donation to $200 was made by Jim - KE9ET and seconded by Dave - W9DEY
Discussion followed and a vote was taken and unanimously approved.

A80K - Liberia
Liberia is #137 on the Club-Log Most Wanted DXCC entity list.
This Czeck DXpedition is already QRV, well run, and producing a high QSO rate.
No motion was made for funding.

The April 2024 MDXC Business Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM CDST
