5114 Stonehaven Dr., Madison 53716
Roger was first licensed in Plymouth, WI as a KN9EMG in 1956. He earned his General Class license in 1957. He later upgraded to Advanced (1970's) and passed the Extra Class exams in 2000. He resides in a well tended and very pleasant suburban east side Madison home.

Roger has achieved DXCC Honor Roll status in both mixed and phone, RTTY (301) and CW (295). He has also worked 25 countries on PSK31 and is presently working on activating slow scan TV. WAZ, phone and RTTY, and WAS-RTTY awards also hang on the shack walls.
He is a member of the MDXC, FLARC and ARRL and has served on the BOD of FLARC and President of MDXC in 1998 and 1999. Roger also is interested in genealogy and has amassed and extensive family tree record.
His most memorable ham experience was when he was able to relay information to a sailor aboard an icebreaker in the Antarctic that his wife had given birth and he was a new dad within a half an hour of the event. The timing worked out that the ham operators aboard ship just happened to be on the air and Roger happened to find them.

K9EMG sports a five band quad and 40 and 80 slopers. Other antennas for VHF can be seen as well.

If the bands aren't producing DX, Roger turns his chair the other direction and does some home brewing. Here's a computer sound card interface in the works. He is designing and building the unit himself with a tad of help from his son who produced the circuit board. NICE JOB, Roger!
