The January 2012 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday

The January 2012 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday, the 10th at the Green Lantern in McFarland, WI. The meeting was called to order by VP Ted - K9IMM at 7:13 PM. 8 members attended. ( Many members absent due to winter vacations )

Secretary’s report:* Minutes of the December meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report:* Financial Statement of Account for the general fund as of December 17, 2011 was read and approved.

Committee reports:

DX Report…* Jim - KE9ET: *HK0NA - Malpelo Island.* Set-up crew on site now and making some QSOs before the whole team arrives, January 21 to February 6. http://hk0na.com. VP6T - Pitcairn Island*, January 20 to February 4, 2012 http://www.vp6t.org. TN2T - Republic of the Congo*, January 22 to 31. _http://www.tn2t.be. K9GY is currently active from Afghanistan as T6MO.

Repeater…* Gari - NG9V: Repeater is working.

Packet Cluster…* Ed - N9MW (via e-mail): W9BG continues to work well, wants members to connect to port 7373 ( V-6 ), hopes to drop old V-4 app soon.

Website…* Ed - N9MW (via e-mail): Member page has been updated, still looking for more member information.

E-mail…* Ted - K9IMM: MDXC e-mail reflector working.

Scholarship…* Ed - N9MW (via e-mail): This year’s grant will be for $600. Letters have been sent to 55 area high schools and colleges. Need to promote the program wherever possible.

General and Member Information:

Jim - W9GL (via e-mail): reports that the bands are down from last month, but still are very good compared to previous years. Bud - K9ZT reports now having 256 DXCC confirmed.

Old Business: None

New Business: A motion was made and seconded to make a $100 donation to the Malpelo DX-pedition. After a brief discussion, a vote was taken and the expenditure was approved.
