The March 2012 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday, the
13th at the Green Lantern in McFarland, WI.The meeting was called to
order by VP Ted -K9IMM at 7:25 PM.11 members attended.

*Secretary’s report:*Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved.

*Treasurer’s report:*Financial Statement of Account for the general fund
as of February19, 2012 was read and approved.

*Committee reports:*
*-DX Report…* Chad T88ES on now.A DXpedition to ZS8-Marion IS. planned
for 2014.
Several members report working Jim-W9GL while he is in
Honduras.Ed-N9MW:notes that we are experiencing unusual propagation due
to recent solar activity.
*- Repeater…* Gari - NG9V:Repeater is working.
*- Packet Cluster…* Ed - N9MW: W9BG working well.Instruction for
utilizing the newer version software is available on the MDXC website
under “Forms and Tables”.
*- Website…* Ed - N9MW: Website working, has received 2 new member
biographies.
*- e-mail…*Ted - K9IMM: MDXC e-mail reflector working.
*- Scholarship…* Ed - N9MW: has reserved a table at the MARA Hamfest for
selling donated equipment, has received some contributions of gear but
needs more.

*General and Member Information:
*K9EMG-Roger is planning to change his QTH this year, will need help
with tower & antenna.
K9IMM-Ted talked about the benefits of “skimmers”, and is seriously
thinking of setting one up in this area.
W9JEK-Wilbur Jensen, age 88, of Stoughton, became a silent key on
Saturday, March 10.

*Old Business:*
Lloyd-N9LB circulated a copy of the HK0NA website showing MDXC as a sponsor.
Lloyd-N9LBreported that we now have a reservation at Fitzgerald's in
Middleton for our annual MDXC Banquet on Saturday, April 21^st
.Socializing starts at 5PM, dinner will be at 6PM.Attendees will order
off the menu or can choose the prime rib buffet.
